Alan Woll, co-founder and CEO, Network Polymers Inc.

Manufacturing, Sales Growth
Alan Woll’s vision was to create a company that would connect customers to consistent supply channels, offer competitive pricing, deliver custom formulations and support its customers through a broad spectrum of technical support capabilities. In 1986, Woll co-founded Network Polymers Inc., a leading single source provider of thermoplastic resins and alloys.
Several years later, he helped establish a joint venture to create Diamond Polymers, which combined proven technologies and manufacturing capabilities to produce a broad product portfolio of resins and alloys with enduring performance properties. Woll, who is Network Polymer’s CEO, made Diamond Polymers a wholly owned subsidiary of the company in 2002, making it the fourth largest producer of Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate (ASA) and Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) in North America.
ASA and ABS materials offer a wide range of properties suitable for finished parts and for outdoor applications, including superior impact resistance, high flexural strength, high heat distortion temperature, high or low gloss, and excellent color capabilities.
In 2010, Network Polymers launched a new strategic plan that better communicated its greatest value and points of differentiation. This new identity reinforced the commitment behind the organization’s effort to support clients’ custom thermoplastic needs. With the organization consisting of two, loosely connected operations, Network Polymers’ leadership decided to merge the company into a single organization, using Network Polymers Inc. as the corporate umbrella with Diamond Polymers as a family of branded product lines.
“For a long time, we had confusion regarding our two brands operating interchangeably as one company,” Woll says. “The need to become a cohesive whole was quite strong. A corporate facelift was in order so we could effectively reintroduce who we are, what we do and why we’re the best thermoplastics solution for our customers.”
The company’s brand promise not only speaks to the depth and breadth of its product line but also defines what it does and what it is — a provider of solid industry experience and flexible service to its customers.
