Welcome to the 2007 Pillar Awards. This year, we celebrate a milestone. The Pillar Awards are 10 years old.

For the past decade, Medical Mutual of Ohio has honored companies for their good deeds and contributions to worthy causes in Northeast Ohio.

The 2007 Pillar Award winners have distinguished themselves through leading by example and volunteerism. Each company is committed to improving the quality of life for Northeast Ohioans, and I congratulate each organization for its dedication.

As a founding sponsor of the Pillar Awards, along with Smart Business Network, I believe that Medical Mutual has a responsibility to improve the communities it serves. We strive to live up to that responsibility in everything we do.

I couldn’t be more proud of the volunteer spirit and the efforts of Medical Mutual’s employee volunteer committee, S.H.A.R.E., which stands for serve, help, aid, reach and educate. Devoting its time and raising thousands of dollars in support of worthy organizations and causes in Northeast Ohio, this committee helps coordinate more than 25 events involving nearly half of our company’s 2,700 employees.

It is only fitting that one of the annual Pillar Awards is a special S.H.A.R.E. Award, which is given to the company whose employees best exemplify the values of Medical Mutual’s S.H.A.R.E. committee.

“Improving the communities we serve” is a common theme for all of the Pillar Award recipients. Once again, Medical Mutual is proud to be in such outstanding company.
