This is an exciting time in history. Innovation has always been a key to our collective success in the U.S. — especially in health care. And as technology continues to make the world more accessible, new global business ventures continue to emerge and thrive, spreading innovation around the globe.

At Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, we are proud to offer innovative tools to help consumers navigate the ever-more-sophisticated health care landscape. The more information people have about their health and health care options, the better equipped they will be to make good decisions. One of the most powerful tools we offer our members is timely access to information.

We are very pleased to have piloted many innovative online tools right here in Ohio over the past few years. We offer Anthem members easy online access to information on topics like:

  • their own personal health record
  • how to manage chronic diseases, like diabetes, asthma, etc., for the best possible quality of life
  • descriptions of medical procedures including bloodless online videos that enable you to understand a particular type of surgery
  • actual costs at various local facilities for common nonemergency procedures
  • prescription medication costs, alternatives and drug interactions
  • special offers that save Anthem members money on a wide range of medical products and services — e.g., weight loss services, health clubs, vision, dental and hearing services, maternity products, books, and much more

Congratulations to all of this year’s honorees, and thanks to the Master Innovators who will graciously share their success stories with us at the 10th Annual Innovation in Business Conference on Sept. 18. On behalf of Anthem, thank you for bringing innovation and vision to this community. <<
