We recently checked out West Point Market's Web site (www.westpointmarket.com) and found a wide range of specialty items -- from the retailer's famous Original Killer Brownies to Pertrossian caviar -- available at the click of a mouse.
Orders received Monday through Wednesday are shipped via Federal Express. For local residents, the market will make home deliveries within a five-mile radius.
Founder Russ Vernon (who last month stepped down as CEO to take on a public relations role) told SBN that he has received orders from as far away as Zurich, Switzerland, but confided that that order's cost just about equaled the market's cost to carry out the delivery.
"We haven't, like many businesses, realized the return yet, but we must be there," he says. "We're going to continue to develop it, but it has to come at its own time."
For now, the Killer Brownies will have to do.
