Raymond W. Yeager certainly worked his way to the top.

Starting in 1984 as a controller at Ductmate Industries Inc. (DMI Cos.), he was eventually promoted to vice president/treasurer in 1988 and then executive vice president/treasurer in 1991. He kept the executive vice president title and added the chief financial officer title in 1996. He then became chief operating officer in 1999 and president in 2006.

But it’s really no surprise Yeager worked his way up the chain of command at the HVAC accessories manufacturer.

Guided by his aggressive approach to sustainable manufacturing, he has recognition and foresight for the future of the industry as it moves toward green building. Yeager and DMI Cos. have identified opportunities for its products and services in the green building market and continued to stay ahead of the curve. Since his induction as president and CEO, DMI Cos. has been named Manufacturer of the Year for Sustainability in Pittsburgh and also received a product innovation grant for $100,000 to be put toward product development via its partnership with the Green Building Alliance.

The grant will be used for the development of Ductmate’s GreanSeam II product, which will significantly reduce duct leakage. DMI Cos. will work in conjunction with the University of Pittsburgh on this endeavor.

Green building continues to be a guiding principle of DMI Cos. while under Yeager’s control, as it is proud to offer a multitude of practical green solutions that contribute to a more sustainably built environment.

Yeager has a knack for understanding and inviting change and the commonalities that have influenced the need for such, recognizing and establishing the end goal as a result of the need for change.

He has effectively identified industry trends and positioned the company to take advantage of those trends, having taken the business model and grown it during such difficult economic periods as the two recessions that DMI Cos. has recently emerged from successfully. <<
