Akron law firm Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs elected to its board of managers for 2001-2002 Robert W. Briggs, chairman of the board; Nicholas T. George, president; Patrick J. Keating, vice chairman of the board/vice president/treasurer; Donald B. Leach, Jr., vice president/assistant treasurer; Jeffrey A. Halm, vice president/secretary; Steven A. Dimengo, vice president; Mark J. Skakun III, vice president; and Cathy Godshall, vice president. Edward V. Buehrle and Stephen P. Griffin were elected as shareholders.

Justin T. Rogers, retired chairman and CEO of Ohio Edison (now FirstEnergy), was honored by The Hospice Care Center of Akron with the naming of its new facility, the Justin T. Rogers Care Center, in his honor.

Fifth Third Bank of Northeastern Ohio has named Victoria K. Wixcey vice president in the commercial banking department. Brighid Consilio was promoted to assistant vice president in the private banking department; Jeffrey M. Peters was promoted to assistant vice president; and Marianne V. Tomcsak was promoted to assistant vice president in the treasury management department.

Chardon Rubber Co. of Chardon has appointed Hudson resident John R. Vinson as director of human resources.

Akhia Public Relations of Hudson has added John Marzich III and Danielle Nowell as account executives.

Fairlawn-based DigitalDay, an Internet professional services firm, has promoted Tina Brode to assistant manager, information design and added Dave Petrou as strategist, Amy Diorio as project manager, Mike Buchheit as senior programmer/analyst and Anitha Donakanti as programmer/analyst. David Graves, Todd Heckeler, Lee Vanderkooi, Sarah Clapsaddle and Bill Holman have joined the company as graphic designers.

Landmark Plastic Corp. of Akron has promoted Steven W. Pavelka to vice president and CEO; Jamie Kane to manager, business and operations development; Jeffery Clapper to manager, project and facilities development; and Becky Beckham to accounting manager.

SS&G Financial Services, a full-service accounting, business consulting and management firm, has added William McClelland Jr. in its Cleveland office and Heather Carroll and James Robson Jr. in the Akron office. Gary S. Shamis, managing director of the Cleveland office, has been honored as the region's 2001 Financial Executive of the Year.

Don L. Robart was appointed to the Sunset Review Commission for a term ending Dec. 31, 2002. He is mayor of Cuyahoga Falls and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.

The law firm of Roetzel & Andress has named Jeffrey W. Leonard partner in its Akron office, where he will work in the business services law group.

Delta Systems Inc. of Streetsboro has hired Scott Johnston as quality manager.

A.E. "Tony" Szambecki, CEO of Hallrich Inc., the Stow-based owner of 81 Pizza Hut restaurants in Northeast Ohio, was inducted into the International Pizza Hut Franchise Holders' Association Hall of Fame. Carol Magazzeni, director of marketing and public relations for Hallrich, received the "Supreme Service" Award for Marketing Excellence.

Falls Lumber and Millwork Co. of Cuyahoga Falls has promoted Randy Mounts to production manager, Denny Spardy to director of operations and Dave Keenan to director of sales.
