According to Airports:USA, Akron-Canton Airport was one of the fastest growing airports in the nation from 1994 to 2000. The number of passengers grew by more than 66.6 percent over six years, the eighth largest percentage increase in the nation.

The Ohio EPA reached a settlement with Canton-based Hawaiian Haze International Inc. for violations of hazardous waste regulations that occurred at the company's fluorescent bulb distribution facility in Canton.

The board of directors of Wayne Bancorp Inc. has completed its acquisition agreement with Chippewa Valley Title Agency Inc.

JSM Consulting Group Inc. of Canton, a fund-raising consulting company, has finalized its merger with Cornerstone Consulting Inc. of Reading, Pa. Both companies will operate under the name of Capital Venture; offices will be maintained in Pennsylvania and Ohio.
