Butler Physical Therapy felt the pain when one of the state's largest insurance providers introduced a new form for treatment plans.

Since the rehabilitation practice, which operates offices at six locations throughout Butler County, had long ago junked its typewriters, the form would have had to be filled out by hand, a labor-intensive process that managers figured would increase costs and take up precious time that could be used for patient care.

Integral Technologies suggested the use of OmniForm, software that allows an original form to be digitized and filled out directly on a PC. The form can be shared among staff and e-mailed, printed and faxed to the insurer.

Says Cathie Hassler, office manager at Butler Physical Therapy, "The digitized version of the form has been a great asset to our administrative staff because it reduced the time devoted to paperwork."
