Time to prioritize

I read with interest your article in the October 2001 issue of SBN Magazine with respect to full-time legislators. I could not agree with you more.

In fact, I think you did not go far enough. It is my opinion that the General Assembly should be required constitutionally to not meet more than perhaps 90 days or 120 days per year so that the legislators can legitimately tell many of their constituents who want some of these goofy laws passed that there just isn't time to deal with anything other than the necessities of the operations of state government.

Again, I applaud you for your courage. While we may not agree on what bills should be submitted to the General Assembly, I think we can agree that there would certainly be far fewer bills submitted, many of which are not necessary.
