avid Barlaam is responsible for leading all global recruiting and domestic relocation initiatives for The Lubrizol Corp.
Lubrizol is made of two business segments, Lubrizol Additives and Lubrizol Advanced Materials, and joined the Berkshire Hathaway family of companies in September 2011.
He has success in designing, implementing and executing top-notch human resources and recruiting organizations. Barlaam has attained certification from AIRS® in all areas of recruiting, and has attained certification for Certified Internet Recruiter, Certified Diversity Recruiter, Certified Social Sourcing Recruiter and Advanced Certified Internet Recruiter, along with Professional Certified Recruiter certification in 2012.
In November 2012, he earned AIRS’s prestigious Elite Certified Recruitment Expert with a near perfect score.
Among Barlaam’s key contributions were to internalize, develop and lead global talent acquisition, hiring about 2,000 salaried, professional-level employees per year in more than 120 locations, greatly reducing headhunter use and expense.
He also built and led an internal headhunting agency focused on top executive roles, and then replicated it across all seven divisions globally, and was directly responsible for managing and filling roles with significant CEO exposure.
Barlaam led global strategic change initiatives including an internal posting program, employee referral program, applicant tracking system, online application, automated reporting, vendor management system, employment branding and social media initiatives.
