Jonathan Katz
Jewish Federation of Cleveland
Jonathan Kcle_hr_JonathanKatzatz is a native of California and a rising junior at the College of Wooster.
He has proven himself to be an effective asset to the HR department at the Jewish Federation of Cleveland, demonstrating a demeanor that is friendly, efficient, hardworking and communicative.
Katz has spent much of his internship researching best practices in using social media tools for recruitment efforts. He has made recommendations for how the Federation could improve its Social Recruiting efforts, including teaching how best to reach a wider network using a variety of techniques. He has compiled a Social Recruiting plan that includes a calendar for posting that will not only improve recruitment efforts, but the Federation’s overall reach via social media.
Katz has spent hours speaking with other Jewish organizations, locally, nationally and internationally, to learn how these organizations set and maintain a level of professional learning that is right for their staff around Jewish history, thought, traditions and contemporary challenges of the Jewish people. In his research for this assignment, Katz discovered that a similar organization to the Federation is implementing a measurement tool for current and incoming staff to gather data on their knowledge of Judaism. He has displayed initiative in reaching out, connecting and working with this organization to adapt this tool for best use at the Federation.
Katz has also gathered and analyzed information about current op/tech administrative support positions. He conducted one-on-one interviews with the administrative support team to provide an overview of support by department.
