Rich as Rockefeller: Founder of Standard Oil became one of most wealthy men ever

During his 97 years, industrialist and philanthropist John D. Rockefeller lived some 64 of them in Greater Cleveland, arriving in 1853 at 14 to live with his family in Strongsville. From the 1880s until 1917 he split his residence time between Cleveland and New York City. He and several partners founded Standard Oil Co. in Cleveland in 1870 and Rockefeller went on to become one of the wealthiest men in the U.S. and arguably of all time.
