ADESA names Sales president, COO

The board of directors of ADESA Inc. appointed Angel Rodolfo “A.R.” Sales president and chief operating officer.

He is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the ADESA Inc. family of companies as the company continues its efforts to operate with a one-company focus and coordinate operations. He has been a member of the board of directors since 2004 and served on its audit committee and corporate governance and nominating committee. He will remain on the board in his new position.

“We are extremely pleased to add A.R. to our senior management team,” says Chairman and CEO David Gartzke. “A.R. brings a wealth of experience and knowledge, as well as a full understanding of our company and our industry. His skills truly complement my own, and having A.R. as president and COO will provide us additional bench strength to the senior management team and allow me to continue to concentrate on our strategic and growth initiatives.”

Previously, Sales was managing director of Odyssey Corporate Finance LLC. From 2002 to 2003, he was COO of Best Access Systems Inc. He retired in 2001 from his position as president of Roll Coater Inc. and senior vice president at ArvinMeritor Inc. From 1987 to 1990, he was vice president and treasurer of The Upjohn Co.

He earned a bachelor’s degree and an MBA in finance from Indiana University.

HOMEFEDERAL BANK
HomeFederal Bank appointed William S. Denton and John T. Travis executive vice presidents of commercial banking in the Indianapolis area.

They bring more than a combined 48 years of commercial banking experience to the company and most recently managed the commercial banking group for Old National Bank.

FIFTH THIRD BANK
John Pelizzari
was named president and CEO of Fifth Third Bank’s central Indiana operations.

He previously worked as president and CEO of the bank’s Northern Michigan region.

MICHAEL BAKER JR. INC.
Mary Jo Hamman
was named manager of the newly opened Indianapolis office of Michael Baker Jr. Inc., an engineering unit of Michael Baker Corp.

She most recently worked in the private sector as a consulting engineer. Prior to that, she spent 17 years with the Indiana Department of Transportation as a design development section manager with the department’s design division.

BRANDOHR
Ann Clifford
formed BrandoHR, a new company to provide recruiting tools for small and mid-sized companies.

She is the founder of Safari Solutions, and she worked for Price Waterhouse and the American College of Sports Medicine before beginning a series of entrepreneurial ventures in 1987.

WINDROSE MEDICAL PROPERTIES TRUST
Philip J. O’Donnell
was appointed vice president asset management of Windrose Medical Properties Trust and senior vice president of Windrose Medical Properties Management LLC.

He most recently worked as regional vice president at Prentiss Properties Trust for 10 years before the company was sold in January. Before that, he spent 13 years at Hines in the property management function.

CONSECO INC.
Conseco Inc. named Daniel G. Walseth executive vice president, general counsel and secretary of the company.

He formerly worked for Thrivent Financial for Lutherans as vice president and senior associate general counsel. His prior experience includes senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary at Lutheran Brotherhood Fraternal benefit Society and senior positions at ITT Hartford Life Insurance Companies and ITT Life Insurance Corp.

In another move at Conseco, the board of directors named James E. Hohmann interim CEO following the resignation of William S. Kirsch.

He previously worked as executive vice president and chief administrative officer and joined the company in 2004 from XL Life and Annuity, where he was president and CEO from 2001 to 2004.

He has also worked for Zurich Kemper Life and Tillinghast, Towers Perrin.

THE FINISH LINE INC.
The Finish Line Inc. board of directors elected Catherine A. Langham director. Her term will expire at the 2007 annual meeting, and she will serve on the audit committee of the board of directors.

She is co-founder of the global logistics firm Langham and has more then 20 years of experience in the logistics industry.

WELLPOINT INC.
WellPoint Inc. appointed Linda Pollnow vice president and general manager of state sponsored business.

She has 25 years of experience in health care management and has worked with Fortune 500 companies. She most recently worked as vice president, physician and hospital interface for WellPoint.

Before joining the company in 2001, she was senior vice president of provider network management at Health Net and director of operations at Blue Cross of California.

ACES POWER MARKETING
Aces Power Marketing hired John Baileys as director of coal and emissions.

He previously worked for PPL Energy Plus as director of energy marketing and fuel supply. He earned his bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Gannon University and his MBA from DeSales University.
