An alluring dot-com conference

Students from Carnegie Mellon University’s graduate business school know the importance of Pittsburgh’s evolution from traditional industry to a technology-driven economy.

And they know that, for such an evolution to occur, more high-tech companies — and talent — will have to relocate here.

That’s why the students are playing host to a rather aggressive national technology conference, which they’re calling Tomorrow’s Technology Today (T3). Their goal: to entice more national dot-com companies and young entrepreneurial professionals to relocate to Pittsburgh.

“The economy is moving in the technology direction,” says Matt Downing, one of the conference’s organizers. “People must know the language to move in that direction. This can help them get started or expand.”

The conference will be held April 7-8 at various locations on the CMU campus. For information on the T3 conference, visit www.RealPittsburgh.com.
