Big boxes abound

Fast-growing Cranberry Township will soon find yet another shopping center within its boundaries.

The Woodmont Corp. is building Cranberry Commons, a 552,000-square-foot center dominated by “big box” retailers along Route 228.

Scheduled for completion next summer, the center is 90 percent leased, with Lowe’s Home Improvement Center, Target, Kohl’s, T.J. Maxx, Staples and PETsMART leading the way. Smaller retailers will make up about 50,000 square feet of the center’s floor space.
