As the community’s college, we are proud of our role in helping family businesses succeed through education and training.
Family businesses are an important part of the fabric of our community. They provide goods and services and rank from small businesses to major corporations. Every year, Tri-C provides education and training to give the various needs of family businesses from specialty courses to degree programs for the next generation.

Since the college launched the 10,000 Small Businesses Program in partnership with Goldman Sachs, hundreds of participants have completed this program including local, family-owned businesses, first-generation family businesses and multi-generational, well-established businesses looking for strategic planning and ideas needed to grow their businesses.
Family businesses are also important to the economic development of our region. Tri-C is committed to bringing businesses together to discuss real issues facing family businesses and helping them thrive. We are pleased to partner with Smart Business and bring you this premier event designed to showcase how to build and maintain a formula that works.
It is crucial that we keep the momentum of family business growth. To assist you, Smart Business has assembled two remarkable and impressive panels for the 2015 Smart Business Family Business Conference. The first panel consists of industry experts who will share their advice as experts in the field and give you tools to help in your own business. The second panel is a host panel of local CEOs who understand what it takes to succeed as a family-owned business — they have lived, worked and thrived here. These leaders will share the strategies that they employ to progress on their pathways to success and offer their insights on owning, running and working in a family business.

On behalf of Cuyahoga Community College, we offer our sincerest thanks to the business owners who agreed to participate in this innovative event and we congratulate the 2015 Family Business Achievement Award winners.
