Burns & Scalo Roofing Co. received the roofing contract for three University of Pittsburgh fraternity houses.

Repal Construction Co. Inc. received the Phase II renovations contract for The Palisades Building in McKeesport.

The Regional Industrial Development Corp. awarded bids for the construction of a multitenant flex building at Meadow Ridge Business Park, Mt. Morris. Davis & Sons was selected for the building construction and Richard Lawson Excavation was chosen for site work. Guardian Construction Management Services Inc. is construction manager for the project.

Walnut Capital Real Estate Services Inc. opened an office in Irwin.

TECHNOLOGY

Filmet acquired the VUTEk PressUV 180EC, an industrial-strength eight-color digital inkjet printer capable of printing on both rigid and flexible substrates.

Tokyo Electron Ltd., a major maker of semiconductor process tools, will install an SSM electrical metrology system at its facility. The system is manufactured by Solid State Measurements Inc. of Pittsburgh.

Mitsubishi electric Power Products Inc. reached an agreement with the Regional Industrial Development Corp. of Southwestern Pennsylvania to purchase additional property near its present facilities in the RIDC Thorn Hill Industrial Park in Marshall Township.

TRANSPORTATION

Pitt Ohio Express initiated LTL service to Canada through a partnership with TransX, a Winnipeg, Ontario-based transportation company.
