Call for action

Cincinnati Bell is committed to the principles of corporate community responsibility and good corporate citizenship and regularly demonstrates that through its actions.

The company, led by President and CEO Jack Cassidy, is involved with many organizations and has been working for more than 130 years to make the community a great place to live and work. And through its philanthropic efforts, the company focuses on four key areas: arts and culture, civic and community, youth and education, and sponsorships and donations.

With arts and culture, Cincinnati Bell puts its resources behind raising money for the Fine Arts Fund to make arts available in the community, and it also helps attract and retain businesses to participate in the fund. In the civic and community sector, it has a strong tradition of supporting United Way and typically ranks in the area’s top 15 companies in giving to help create lasting change that improves lives and strengthens the community by maintaining a safety net of essential services, helping children and youth succeed, and helping families achieve self-sufficiency.

Under youth and education, Cincinnati Bell is committed to making a difference in the lives of children by educating them and giving them the support they need to succeed. As an example, Taft IT High School has dramatically improved academic results since being transformed into a technologically focused high school with assistance from a partnership with Cincinnati Bell. Twice a week for the past five years, dozens of employees tutor students, which has helped the school to become the first in the district to earn the coveted Blue Ribbon distinction.

Finally, the company maintains a sponsorship and donations program to develop and execute strategies for corporate community involvement that supports the overall goals and objectives of the company. It makes three types of contributions: Donations in the form of cash contributions, in-kind donations and sponsorships that will result in long-term working relationships to maximize return on investments.

The company considers requests from local nonprofit organizations that meet a number of criteria established by the sponsorship and donations program.

Together with its employees, the company continues to have a positive impact on the communities in which it does business.
