Core competency

Emergency Medicine Physicians Ltd., a
provider of emergency medical services
nationwide, believes that emergency
physicians are both the problem and the
solution when it comes to achieving higher emergency department patient satisfaction scores.

That’s why EMP has been expanding upon
the traditional physician-patient relationship,
placing an emphasis on relating to each
patient as a person and not just a group of
symptoms.

That philosophy has been one of the main
building blocks for EMP, a physician-owned,
Canton-based company headed by CEO
Dominic J. Bagnoli.

Starting from the day they are hired at EMP,
physicians are trained in patient service and
why it’s a crucial part of administering medicine. Candidates for employment at EMP
include chief residents or mature residents at
local hospitals who share the company’s values and vision. Through recruiting and recommendations, EMP seeks experienced
physicians who will be good matches for its
business model. EMP believes physicians
with local connections will be vested in the
company and in the community, two important aspects of patient service.

Physicians at EMP are taught to focus on
four patient-oriented core values: having a
servant’s heart, having an owner’s mind, a
belief in the value of teamwork and the
importance of integrity. Possessing a servant’s heart means EMP physicians believe
caring for the patient is foremost in everything they do. Having an owner’s mind means
physicians are motivated to take responsibility for the company, solving problems and
creating success. Valuing teamwork means
physicians collaborate with one another and
strive to use best practices. Integrity means
understanding the importance of high business and ethical standards.

If physicians uphold those four values,
EMP believes the sky is the limit when it
comes to patient care.
