Glad to help

The employees at Zinner & Co. LLP don’t just want to participate in a fund-raiser; they want to celebrate it. That’s what Benjamin Light, director of operations at The Gathering Place, found out when Zinner employees took part in a Gathering Place fund-raiser.

Not only did Zinner, a public accounting and management consulting firm whose service projects are led by Partner Sue Krantz, sponsor The Gathering Place’s Race for the Place, but Zinner also formed a team and printed its own shirts to wear on race day. On top of that, Zinner also posted the photos from the race on the company blog and detailed with great pride the team members who won awards in the event.

“The personal interest that their employees take in our event is something truly special, and we could not be more pleased to have Zinner & Co. as our partner,” Light says.

With examples like its involvement with The Gathering Place’s fund-raiser, Zinner’s motto of “Community service is our business” couldn’t be proven truer. In looking at Zinner & Co.’s client base, it is truly evident that the company is a widely trusted business partner of not-for-profit organizations. However, these relationships go beyond the call of duty of doing business.

Not very many companies can testify that nonprofit work and community service define their business, culture and existence in the way that Zinner & Co. LLP can.

In addition to constantly encouraging team members to volunteer for organizations that are meaningful to them, the company has financially backed their efforts to help increase the impact of these nonprofit organizations. As a result, in the past year alone, Zinner & Co. has made more than $48,000 in overall financial and service-oriented donations to 20 different organizations throughout Northeast Ohio. On top of this, as part of its ongoing donation efforts, it is normal protocol for Zinner & Co. to discount service fees 25 to 30 percent for not-for-profit organizations.

Individual staff members at the company have received special outside leadership recognition for their efforts. In addition, Zinner & Co. was recognized with the companywide Exemplary Professional Service Award from the Mt. Pleasant NOW Development Corp. for its devotion to the organization and setting an example of hard work.
