EnviroScience Inc., headed by President Martin Hilovsky, has more than doubled both its revenues and staff during the past five years, expanding its geographic footprint and services along the way.
The company, which provides natural resource and ecological services to governments and private clients, needed all the help it could get when it helped deal with the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. The task required EnviroScience to rapidly add staff, reassign existing staff and organize and mobilize multiple teams to attack the water sampling required for eight months.
Though the job put a strain on its resources, the company that year still provided excellent services to its existing clients, as evidenced by being named Contractor of the Year by CXST for its emergency response work on railroad derailments and restoration projects. That it won the same award four years in a row is a testament to its constantly outstanding performance.
The company’s continued excellence allowed it to make the largest investment in the company’s history in 2013. It acquired and remodeled a new corporate headquarters in Stow and invested $1.4 million renovating warehouse and vehicle maintenance bays into office and laboratory space to support its growth. EnviroScience has also invested in people, making a number of strategic hires to add capabilities and senior-level experience in existing service areas.

EnviroScience is active with area schools and universities, encouraging and supporting the sciences. The company also coordinates a semi-annual volunteer cleanup of the Little Cuyahoga River, which annually removes five tons of debris.
