Healthy contributions

President and CEO A. Ray Dalton says PartsSource LLC was
founded on a philanthropic idea, so it’s no surprise that the company has a strong record of community service. Giving back is a
key component to his company’s success.

Dalton wanted to see excess or obsolete medical equipment
moved from the U.S. to impoverished countries where it could dramatically improve the quality of life. Now, PartsSource uses its
expansive network of suppliers and customers to leverage opportunities to help others.

Through the company’s work with hospitals throughout the
United States, PartsSource is presented with many opportunities to
acquire old or unwanted medical equipment. In many cases, that
equipment is in perfect working order, but the technology is considered outdated for hospitals in the U.S. In other cases, some of the
equipment isn’t working and PartsSource provides the needed parts
to restore functionality.

However, that same outdated technology can be used to save many
lives in Third World countries. Dalton’s goal is to see that the equipment gets there. PartsSource has sent medical equipment to India,
South America and other impoverished areas of the world — at the
company’s expense.

Dalton has also made several medical mission trips to India, where
he directly helped provide medical care to people who had never seen
a doctor, much less American medical equipment.

When Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans, Dalton turned
PartsSource’s warehouse into a staging area for needed supplies.
The company’s employees shipped an entire trailer of food, water
and clothing directly into the affected area.

Dalton also organized an employee contribution program and
matched every contribution, dollar for dollar. All told, PartsSource
raised more than $20,000 for the hurricane relief efforts.

Dalton says community outreach is a critical component to a
healthy corporate environment. In that spirit, he has organized contributions to the United Way raising several thousand dollars, and he
also organizes an annual blood drive for the American Red Cross.

Dalton purchases a table each year for Youth Challenge, a fund-raiser for intellectually challenged young adults in Northern Ohio
that helps mainstream them into society.

Other organizations PartsSource actively supports include
Mediquip Missions, Global Links, India Gospel League, Samaritan’s
Purse, Mercy Ships, Assist International and the Akron Pregnancy
Center.
