How Doug Caffoe fosters exciting innovation at Fomo Products

Doug Caffoe, Vice President of Business and Market Development, Fomo Products Inc.

Fomo Products Inc. owes much of its growing success to the innovative thinking of Doug Caffoe, vice president of business and market development. Caffoe has developed a number of programs, products and applications that have visibly increased sales and earned new business for the company.
Caffoe has helped Fomo become a key industry leader in low-pressure spray polyurethane foam, a form of insulation and construction sealants, through his research into the science of the SPF industry. After realizing the air sealing benefits of SPF, Caffoe developed the Fomo program “Stop Air Infiltration,” which promoted the company’s traditional one-component products while also opening up the market to its two-component products using SPF. Fomo became the first company in the industry to promote air sealing and air infiltration, now a hot topic related to SPF.
Caffoe guided the implementation of new merchandising displays, built educational campaigns and created direct-mail postcards for distributers and contractors, among other initiatives to promote this program.
Caffoe has also created a strong customer base for Fomo, developing the company’s Partners Program. This group is an invitation-only, frequent-user program for key distributors. Aimed at driving brand loyalty, it’s one of a kind within the industry. This program has led to a loyal customer base that accounts for two-thirds of the company’s annual growth. To attract members, Caffoe implemented support services, which included training for customer sales forces to support Fomo products, among other features, as an extension of this group. Member customers have experienced sales growth in their own businesses as a result.
In his seven years with Fomo Products, Caffoe’s innovative thinking has brought program and product success to the company, enhancing Fomo’s ability to improve the comfort, safety, durability and energy-efficiency of buildings and homes.
