If you retired today, how would you spend most of your time? My wife and I have specific plans for when I’m done with work and it involves service missions. We are going to spend time around the world serving other people on missions.
Where would you like to visit that you haven’t already seen? Antarctica. I’ve been to every other continent and there’s a particular cruise that my wife and I are eyeing. It takes almost a full month, so it probably has to wait a while.
I would love to visit Antarctica. I have been told by those who have gone there that it is absolutely breathtaking, and Alaska is like the — I don’t want to upset anyone, so how do I say this — like the cousin or the younger sister of Antarctica.
What’s the best work of fiction that you’ve read? The Lord of the Rings trilogy. It has good defeating evil, despite the odds and diverse groups pulling together and overcoming their self-interest to focus on a greater goal.
Individuals with seemingly limited strength change the world through their willingness to sacrifice all for others. And there are battles, mythical creatures and ‘My Precious.’
What is it you hope your children will say when they’re asked, ‘What’s your dad like?’ I hope they would say that I was a good example as a husband, as a father.
What do you think it is that they’ll actually say? They may throw in that I’m not as funny as I think I am, I tease too much, you know, who knows what else.
