Building Foundations

The recently established Metis Construction Services is a National Women Business Owners Corp., nationally certified female-owned commercial general contractor. The company may only be 5 years old, but it has already established a notable reputation for its hands-on community involvement.
Metis actively gives back to the community that has made it successful. Whether it is providing 400 books to children in the care of Summit County Children Services in their Easter baskets or volunteering in numerous nonprofit board services and volunteer efforts, Metis works hard to make a positive impact on its community.
By utilizing the skills of its employees, the Metis team has volunteered its talents to community efforts such as Habitat for Humanity and Rebuilding Together, a nonprofit that assists with repairing and rehabilitating the homes of elderly, disabled, low-income and veteran homeowners.
On Heroes Day, a day of service for veterans, retired police and fire workers as well as their widows, the Metis team assisted with the landscape work of a World War II veteran.
Metis employees embraced the company mission again when they donated their weekend to the LeBron James Promise Project. The Metis team applied its trade skills, performing demolition, drywall repair and installation, carpentry, wallpaper removal, painting and deck building. By the end, they were successful in completely renovating a three-story home for a family in need.
The Metis philosophy of giving is centered on building communities by helping one child, one family and one home at a time.
