Dennis E. Welchjoined American Electric Power as senior vice president, environment and safety. In the newly created position, Welch is charged with unifying AEP’s environmental and safety activities into a new organization.
Welch was previously president and COO of Yankee Energy System, an operating subsidiary of Northeast Utilities (NU). He was named president and COO of Yankee Energy in 2001.
A 20-year veteran of NU, Welch served as vice president of environmental, safety and ethics at NU for four years immediately prior to his position at Yankee Energy. He also held positions as director of environmental health and safety and manager of occupational safety at NU. Previously, Welch had various positions at Stone & Webster Engineering.
“Having worked with Dennis for a number of years, I am very excited to add him to the AEP leadership team,” says Michael G. Morris, AEP chairman, president and CEO. “He is an individual of high integrity with a unique ability to establish trust relationships with regulators.”
Welch earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental, health and safety management from Indiana State University at Terre Haute and a master’s degree in business and human resource management from the Hartford Graduate Center of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He also completed the Environmental Leadership Program at Yale University’s School of Forestry and Environmental Studies.

The Ohio State University Medical Center’s Primary Care Network named Michael S. Browningassociate executive director and CFO. Browning was controller and CFO for the OSU Medical Center’s Primary Care Network for the previous four-and-a-half years. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from The Ohio State University. A CPA, he has more than 16 years experience in health care and health care finance and served 12 years in senior financial positions for health care organizations and business units including Ernst & Young, MedCenter Hospital, Northland Terrace and MedOhio Health Inc.

Butler Animal Health Supply LLC named Kevin R. Vasquezpresident and CEO, reporting to Butler’s board of directors. Vasquez also serves on the board of directors. He most recently was president and COO of The Butler Co. His appointment to CEO is a result of the merger between The Butler Co. and Burns Veterinary Supply Inc. Vasquez has more than 26 years of experience in the animal health industry and previously held senior executive positions for Fermenta Animal Health, Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica Inc. and The Butler Co. He is or was a member of the board of directors of the National Cattlemen’s Association, the American Feed Industry Association and the American Veterinary Distributors Association. He is also a past chairman of the AFIA Animal Health Committee.

Bridget McAuliffe, marketing manager at Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan & Aronoff LLP, was elected president-elect of the American Marketing Association, Columbus Chapter, for the 2005-2006 fiscal year.

Igor Babamovskijoined Fifth Third Bank as mortgage loan originator. He will provide assistance to clients with regard to their home mortgage needs. Babamovski is a licensed loan officer with the division of financial institutions of Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky and Indiana. He has been a mortgage broker for five years and has originated loans in 13 states.

Delaware County Bank & Trust Co. promoted Kent Kramerfrom commercial loan officer to assistant vice president, lending. With more than eight years of lending experience, Kramer joined the bank in 2004. He holds a bachelor of science degree in agriculture from The Ohio State University. The bank also promoted Renee Wulfto assistant vice president, treasury management group. She was previously treasury management officer. Wulf is active with The Delaware Speech and Hearing board and The Salvation Army advisory board. Kris Thomaswas promoted to treasury management officer. He joined the bank in 2001 and was previously a treasury management sales representative.
