Conferon Global Services Inc. hired Ed Shartar, former CEO and president of Coca-Cola Ltd., as CEO. Shartar’s duties include integrating the various products and services CGS provides and developing its brand. His appointment comes during full-scale restructuring of company leadership designed to support growth goals.

Shartar began working at The Coca-Cola Co. in 1991, where he held increasingly senior positions, including international treasury services manager for Europe; vice-president and executive assistant to the president, European community group; and director of business development for Coca-Cola USA. His most recent position with The Coca-Cola Co. was as CEO and president of Coca-Cola Ltd., the Canadian subsidiary of Coca-Cola.

Prior to joining Coca-Cola, Shartar worked with Citibank, N.A. in both domestic and international roles. He was vice president and director of the structured finance division, based in London, and vice president and senior banker, based in Atlanta. Shartar has an undergraduate degree in economics from Emory University and an MBA from Harvard University.

STARK & KNOLL

Mary Jo Lockshin is a new partner at Stark & Knoll. She will focus on estate planning and probate.

She received her bachelor of arts and juris doctorate degrees from Ohio Northern University. Prior to joining Stark & Knoll, she was a vice president and trust officer of the trust department at FirstMerit Bank. She is a member of the Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Committees of the American and Ohio State Bar Associations, chair of the Social Committee of the Stark County Bar Association and an advisory board member of the Ohio Northern University College of Arts and Sciences. Lockshin also serves on the Aultman Hospital Women’s Board.

PROQUEST BUSINESS SOLUTIONS

Chris Wolff joined ProQuest Business Solutions Inc. as chief technology officer. His duties include directing the activities of the parts and services development group, the media solutions development team, performance measurement groups and the information technology group.

Wolff worked with Thompson Corp. as vice president of architecture and standards prior to joining ProQuest. Before that, he served LexisNexis for nine years in a variety of management positions.

GREATER AKRON CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

Richard F. Rebadow was named senior vice president of economic development for the Greater Akron Chamber of Commerce. Rebadow previously served as western regional manager for the New York State Electric & Gas Economic Development team for six years before joining the Greater Akron Chamber. Before that, he was director of business services for Empire State Development’s western region office, associate director of administration/planning for the Town of Amherst Industrial Development Agency and assistant planner for the Town of Amherst Planning Department.

The chamber also named Connie Krauss vice president of government affairs. Krauss began her career as an intern in the office of Mayor Donald Plusquellic. After graduating from the University of Akron with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in political science, she was campaign manager and district outreach manager for Rep. Sherrod Brown.

Most recently, Krauss was director of alumni and community relations/assistant director of government relations, as well as director of alumni relations and annual fund for the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine.

THE TIMKEN CO.

The Timken Co. board of directors elected Phillip R. Cox director. Cox founded Cox Financial Corp. in 1972, and is its president and CEO. He serves as chairman of the board for Cincinnati Bell, the Cincinnati Business Committee and the University of Cincinnati. He is a member of the boards of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, Bethesda Hospital, Cinergy Corp., Touchstone Mutual Funds and Long Stanton Manufacturing Co.

WELTY BUILDING CO. LTD.

Patrick Oaks joined Welty Building Co. Ltd. as general manager in its newly created facility services division. The division will cover a wide range of construction projects, including extended-life projects and renovations.

Oaks worked for the Building Industry Association of Stark County as both president and a member of the board of directors. He has also served at the Ohio Home Builders Association and on the National Association of Home Builders Board.
