Nall named MEDecision CIO, EVP

MEDecision Inc. named Ronald D. Nall executive vice president and chief information officer following the retirement of Claire Annechini.

He oversees MEDecision’s information technology operations, including development and delivery of new and emerging technologies. As a member of the executive team, he helps improve business operations and information technology efficiency within the company.

“Ron is a talented and driven leader who brings a wealth of enterprise software experience to the delivery of health care information technology,” says John H. Capobianco, MEDecision president and chief marketing officer. “Continuing on our accelerated growth path, MEDecision is confident that Ron’s appointment will help to properly position MEDecision not only for today, but for our continuing success in the area of collaborative care management software.”

Nall, who earned a bachelor of science degree in management and an MBA from the University of West Florida, previously worked as a consultant. He provided product management and customer support services to a variety of Fortune 1000 companies. Before that, he was executive vice president of services and product delivery for SynQuest Inc. His experience also includes executive information technology positions at PowerCerv, Datalogic International and Computer Associates International, and key posts with UCCEL Corp., Texas Instruments and Electronic Data Systems.

joined Jefferson Wells as field recruiter.

She brings more than 10 years of recruiting management and accounting industry expertise to the company. She previously worked as human resources manager for the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants corporate office. She has also worked as recruiting management account manager with Career Consultants.

ORTHOVITA INC.
Christine J. Arasin
joined Orthovita Inc. as vice president, business development and corporate counsel.

She was the company’s outside counsel from 2000 to 2003 as an associate with Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP. She most recently worked as corporate counsel of Burlington Coat Factory.

She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Michigan Law School.

THE PMA INSURANCE GROUP
The PMA Insurance Group hired Andrew J. McGill as vice president, human resources.

Before joining the company, he was vice president, human resources, for Kennedy Health System in Cherry Hill, N.J. He has more than 15 years of experience in all major functions of the human resources field.

McGill is also a member of The Society for Human Resource Management, the Employment Management Association, the Industrial Relations Research Association, the Philadelphia Area Council for Excellence, New Jersey Human Resources Planning Group and the Institute for Applied Management and Law.

RADIAN GUARANTY INC.
Radian Guaranty Inc. hired Russell E. Johnson as senior vice president, loss management.

He brings more than 14 years of experience in financial services to the company, most recently working as senior vice president and director of servicing operation for American Residential Equities Inc. Prior to that, he was vice president and national servicing manager at Washington Mutual Bank. He also spent nine years at Wells Fargo.

ATLAS AMERICA INC.
Atlas America Inc. appointed Brian J. Begley vice president of investor relations.

He joins the company from CIGNA Corp., where he worked in the investor relations group. Prior to that, he worked as senior auditor at Andersen.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Villanova University and is a CPA and Chartered Financial Analyst.

SUSQUEHANA FINANCIAL GROUP
Susquehana Financial Group hired Peter Haabestad as a senior member of its investment banking group.

He previously worked as managing director at Boenning & Scattergood Inc. He earned a bachelor of science degree in finance at Penn State University and an MBA at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.

ERESEARCH TECHNOLOGY INC.
eResearch Technology Inc. appointed Richard A. Baron executive vice president and chief financial officer.

He previously worked as vice president finance and CFO for Animas Corp. Before that, he was CFO of three other companies and spent 11 years in public accounting, primarily with Coopers & Lybrand.

He is a CPA with a degree from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.

VERIZON COMMUNICATIONS
Verizon Communications named William B. Petersen president of Verizon Pennsylvania.

He previously was general counsel for Verizon in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and Washington, D.C.

He was in private practice before joining the company’s legal department in 2000. Prior to that, he was assistant U.S. attorney in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
