Satisfying approach

2009 Business Growth Awards: Technology Category – Overall Success Story

In the late 1990s, Michael Teutsch started Etactics Inc. with a simple message: to provide a cost-effective service that enhances the accuracy and delivery of time-sensitive documents, especially invoices.

A decade later, you need to look no further than the company’s success under the leadership of Teutsch, president and founder of the company, for proof that the message is getting through to employees and customers.

The provider of electronic data interchange and statement services has more than 2,000 clients and, in the last five years, has increased sales 129 percent and its work force has grown by 65 percent. During 2008, Etactics processed more than 20 million transactions on behalf of its clients.

The strong attention paid to customer satisfaction should be no surprise considering Teutsch’s passion for that aspect of business. He believes without outstanding customer service, no clients can be satisfied.

The company’s services improve cash flow for clients, and new clients immediately improve their accounts receivable while automating and enhancing the invoicing/statement process. In the health care market, the company delivers, edits and tracks insurance company invoices and patient statements for clients — mainly hospitals, physicians and billing services.

Though the company is continuing to grow via new clients, it’s not stopping there.

Etactics continues to add new products and services where there is the opportunity to add significant value for clients. During 2008, the company began marketing new practice management software that has been in design and development for more than four years. The company currently has more than 80 medical practices utilizing the software, and Etactics is expecting to grow this business by more than 100 new practices per year.

The company is also investing significantly in preparing for its next stage of growth and is continuing to look at ways to outsource things that are not part of the core competency. The company recently moved into a new facility in Stow and now has room to grow the staff by an additional 15 new employees.

The move is sure to be the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the company’s growth, considering Etactics’ drive to always satisfy the customer.
