The gift of giving

Kenneth Lanci, Chairman and CEO, Consolidated Graphics Group Inc.

Kenneth A. Lanci takes great pride in encouraging people to get involved in their community, whether they work for him at Consolidated Graphics Group Inc. or work somewhere else. Lanci, Consolidated’s chairman and CEO, is generous not only in these efforts to encourage and help those who need it but also with his time and leadership.
Lanci is chairman of Project Love, a nonprofit, character-building education and training organization. He has been instrumental in helping Project Love survive the tough economy while also helping the organization grow and expand. Project Love’s mission is summed up in four words: kindness, caring, respect and leadership — all of which describe Lanci and his charitable efforts.
In 2007, Lanci and his wife, Linda brought OneSight to the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. OneSight is a Luxottica Group Foundation vision care charity dedicated to providing healthy vision, eyewear and sun protection to those in need worldwide. According to the World Health Organization, 284 million people worldwide suffer from poor vision simply because they do not have access to or cannot afford care.
In four short years, Lanci’s efforts with the “Give the Gift of Sight” program have helped provide free eye examinations and eyewear to over 5,000 children. Lanci and his wife fund all activities to bring OneSight to the area. Consolidated Graphics employees volunteer hundreds of hours in support of the planning, operation and execution of this annual event.
Consolidated Graphics Group also offers graphic arts internships to Cleveland school children and donates printing services to dozens of charities in the area.
Lanci has worked hard over the last 40-plus years turning around troubled companies and creating new jobs. He and his company have helped over 70 organizations. Lanci’s efforts serve as an example of charitable giving and the effects of his generosity are viral.
