What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

Don’t be afraid to talk to your people. Don’t be afraid to talk to your team.

What was your first job, and what did you learn from it?

My first job was dishwasher at a wedding catering facility in Miller Place, N.Y.

[I learned] that the speed at which you accomplish your task will determine your success.

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a chef. After college, I first joined Marriott Corp. ... and I quickly figured out I really didn’t want to be in the kitchen sweating all day.

What is your favorite board game and why?

Scrabble — it’s exercise for the brain, and [with] the amount of time that I spend on airplanes with my iPad, that is the game to have.
It rocks.
