Alexian Brothers Health System named Roger Johnson president and CEO of Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village.
Johnson, a 27-year employee of Alexian Brothers, most recently served as vice president of operations for the Alexian Brothers Hospital Network, which is comprised of four hospitals located in Chicago's northwest suburbs. Johnson was hired as vice president of human resources for Alexian Brothers Medical Center in 1976 and later served in that same capacity for the Alexian Brothers Health System.

Robert W. Sacoff, partner in Pattishall, McAuliffe, Newbury, Hilliard & Geraldson, an intellectual property law and litigation firm founded in 1883, was elected chair of the American Bar Association Section of Intellectual Property Law. As a member of the Public Advisory Committee on Trademark Affairs for more than a decade, Sacoff advised the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office on policy issues. He served as a private sector adviser to the U.S Delegation to the Diplomatic Conference on the 1994 Trademark Law Treaty in Geneva, Switzerland.
J.C. Huang, Ph.D., joined Andrew Corp. in the new role of chief technology and strategy officer. Huang provides overall technology leadership for the company and oversee the development of corporate strategy.
Huang has more than 20 years of experience in the wireless industry, and has worked as technologist, management consultant and venture capitalist. Most recently, he was a managing director and general partner of Ericsson Venture Partners. Prior to that, he was director of wireless ventures at Lucent's New Ventures Group.
Samuel Skinner, recently retired chairman, president and CEO of USF Corp., joined the board of directors of DiamondCluster International.
Before joining USFreightways (now USF Corp.), Skinner was president of the Commonwealth Edison Co. and its holding company, Unicom Corp., one of the nation's largest electric utilities. Prior to that, he served as chief of staff to President George H.W. Bush after working three years in the president's cabinet as secretary of transportation, where he was credited with successes including the development and passage of landmark legislation in aviation and surface transportation.
Brunswick Corp. named Alan L. Lowe vice president and controller, replacing Peter G. Leemputte, who was promoted to senior vice president - chief financial officer. Lowe will report to Leemputte. Lowe, 51, joins the company from Chicago's FMC Technologies Inc., where he most recently was director, financial control. He spent 28 years with FMC in a variety of positions, including business controllerships, strategic planning, financial control and marketing.
TempoSoft appointed Michael Campbell as CEO. Campbell will lead a major transformation of TempoSoft into a U.S.-focused retail technology company. He assumed leadership of the company worldwide and is opening TempoSoft's global headquarters in the Chicago area. Campbell founded Chicago-based Campbell Software. As CEO and president, he built the company into the top-selling provider of work force management applications in the U.S. retail industry. Campbell Software was twice named one of America's fastest growing companies on the Inc 500, and in 1999 the company was acquired by SAP, the world's third largest software company.
Edelman names Brain its European CEO
Edelman Public Relations Worldwide, Chicago's largest PR firm, appointed David Brain as president and CEO of its European operations.
Brain will be based in London and report to worldwide CEO Richard Edelman. He is also joining the firm's 11-member advisory board. Brain comes from Weber Shandwick, where he was joint CEO of its United Kingdom and Ireland operations.
Brain is responsible for the growth and development of the firm's second largest geographical region, with 350 people with $45.5 million in revenue -- 21 percent of Edelman's global revenue -- for fiscal year ended June 2003. The region's clients include AstraZeneca, Barilla, Microsoft, Novartis, Orange, Pfizer and Unilever, from offices in Amsterdam, Barcelona, Brussels, Dublin, Frankfurt, Hamburg, London, Madrid, Milan, Munich, Paris and Stockholm.
