What was your very first job?
It was delivering papers when I was about 9 or 10 years old. Beyond that, through high school and college, I was literally loading trucks and taking those same papers I used to deliver, loading them onto trucks in the middle of the night.
Whom do you admire most in business and why?
Right now, the people in this organization, but it’s also industrywide, that are working with clients. They are working in as uncertain of an environment as many of us have ever seen and yet they’re working with clients, they’re providing them with advice and counsel and all of those things. To do that day in and day out, especially when you really care, and when you really care, you’re wearing your heart on your sleeves right now trying to help others through these issues, and I have a lot of admiration for that. And that’s industrywide.
If you could be one superhero, who would you be and why?
My knowledge of superheroes is slim, but I would say at this point any superhero that could go into the future and see what’s on the horizon. My sense is that we’re going to be just fine. We have some challenges in this country and across the board, but we’re going to be just fine, and any superhero that could go into the future and help this country and our industry navigate to that would be pretty important right now.
