What is the best business advice you’ve ever received?

Don’t take yourself too seriously.

What skills or traits are important for a business leader to have?

You have to be honest, not only with everybody you deal with but also yourself. You have to be able to recognize what your weaknesses are so that you can hire great people around you to fill those weaknesses. You have to be a good listener.

Whom do you look up to in business?

The guy that fascinates me is Steve Jobs of Apple Inc. He continues to, even when he bombs, turn it around and make it a positive for himself and the company. He’s a risk-taker, he’s willing to go out there, he’s not afraid to fail, but he can turn those failures into positives. And he’s reinvented himself several times. To me, that is amazing.

How would you define success?

Creating something you’re proud of and, hopefully, something somebody else likes
