RJ Nicolosi isn’t one who just moves on
when somebody tells him no or that
something can’t be done.
Nicolosi, the president and CEO of
Midwest Electric, has grown his company by leveraging relationships where
other companies have simply given up trying. Realizing that one of his company’s
strengths was the ability to capitalize on its
relationship with the electrician union halls
and source-qualified electricians, Nicolosi
has gone the extra step to meet with
unions to build relationships. As a result
of those relationships, Nicolosi has been
able to find electricians where he needs
them most — and often in cases where
other companies would have simply gotten a no.
When the company first tested some of
the relationships built by Nicolosi in the
Indiana market, the benefit showed
immediately. An existing contractor in
the market could not get the teams of
line electricians needed to serve the utility in that market, but Midwest was able
to source the additional teams and truck
crews needed. The result of that initial
test was that the teams hired by Midwest
immediately respected the business
savvy and dedication of Nicolosi to getting the job done.
Seeing the value of working with people instead of just viewing them as teams
that he needs to hire, Nicolosi has his
company on a growth path for 2008.
Matching his entrepreneurial spirit with
his desire to build relationships, Nicolosi
has created a company that can continue
to expand to more and more markets
with a handshake and respect.
