Understanding the niche On behalf of Medic Drug, we would like to thank you for featuring our company in the December 1999 article, “Niche Player.”

I would particularly like to commend Jim Vickers for capturing the spirit of Medic’s commitment to friendly, knowledgeable customer service. Our ability to survive and succeed as Cleveland’s last family-owned pharmacy chain in the face of overwhelming competition from the national pharmacy giants is due, in large part, to this commitment.

It is refreshing to find others who share our belief that businesses that are part of a community and cater to the needs of individuals and neighborhoods can still find their “niche” in our “superstore” world.
