What was your very first job?
My first full-time job where I went to work 40 hours a week and got paid was as a lifeguard and swim coach at 15. I made 45 cents per hour. I still remember that because it was such a huge sum.
Whom do you admire most in business and why?
I thought a lot about it, and I don’t have a lot of heroes I just don’t. But … here’s who I really admire: I admire a single mom who has a full-time job, and why I do is I know how I feel when I get home from work. I’ve been at the office all day and I’m tired, and I’ve worked hard, and I’ve had some good things and some bad things, and I get home and I’m cooked. I think about the single mom gets home and she not only has to get dinner going, but she’s got to get the kids squared away, homework done … all that stuff. And then she’s got to do it again the next day. I’m not going to say Warren Buffett or Jack Welch or anything like that because it’s truly those people; that’s the backbone of the country if you ask me.
If you could be one superhero, who would you be and why?
This was my favorite superhero growing up, OK, and it’s not a very common one I’m not sure they’ve even done a movie about this particular one I would be The Flash. There was just something about him that was cool. I liked his little uniform, his leotard with lightning bolts on either side of his head, and the way they would draw him. He was different.
