Haubiel joined Big Lots in 1997 as senior staff counsel and was later promoted to director, corporate counsel. In 2000, he was named vice president and general counsel.
Prior to joining Big Lots, he practiced with the law firm of Vorys, Sater, Seymour & Pease LLP. He holds a bachelor's degree from Purdue University and a Juris Doctor from The Ohio State University College of Law.
GLIMCHER REALTY TRUST
Glimcher Realty Trust, one of the country's premier retail REITS, appointed Linda S. Wardell vice president of marketing. Her responsibilities include property and corporate marketing programs.
Wardell most recently served as general manager of Polaris Fashion Place, Glimcher's flagship super-regional mall. She joined Glimcher in 1998 as marketing director at The Mall at Fairfield Commons in Beavercreek. In 1999, she was promoted to regional director of marketing, where she oversaw development and implementation of marketing programs for half of the company's mall portfolio. In 2000, Wardell was promoted to assistant general manager of the Dayton Mall in Dayton, then to general manager of The Mall at Johnson City in Tennessee. In 2001, she returned to Columbus as the assistant general manager and marketing director for the grand opening of Polaris Fashion Place.

DON M. CASTO ORGANIZATION
John P. Mokas was appointed vice president and director of retail leasing for the Don M. Casto Organization. Mokas' primary responsibilities include overseeing the leasing activity and performance of more than 70 shopping centers in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Alabama and Pennsylvania.
Mokas has extensive experience in retail leasing and commercial management, as well as retail development. Prior to joining Casto in 1999, he was vice president for R.J. Solove and Associates of Columbus. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from The Ohio State University and an MBA from Ohio University.
Casto is a comprehensive and multifaceted real estate services.
National City promoted Michael W. Kelley, Thomas J. Mack and Robert L. Bidinger to senior vice presidents in the National City corporate banking group.
Kelley joined National City in 1987 as a credit analyst and has served the metropolitan banking division as a relationship manager and regional manager for the last several years. He earned his bachelor's degree from Miami University.
Mack joined National City in 1989 as a retail management trainee and has served as a relationship manager in the corporate banking group for the last several years. He earned his bachelor's degree from Adrian College.
Bidinger began his career with National City in 1980 as a credit analyst and has served as a relationship manager in the metropolitan banking division for several years. He earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Akron and his MBA from the University of Cincinnati.

Midwest Business Capital hired Gary Kovach as executive vice president. Kovach brings more than 12 years of commercial lending experience to Midwest Business Capital and will play a principal role in the firm's commercial real estate lending activities in the Columbus, Cincinnati, and Dayton markets.
