Where were you born?
Bowling Green, Ohio. I grew up in Findlay.
Education: Ohio University, bachelor’s degree, communications
What was your very first job?
I worked for The Gable House in Ohio. I got to make floral arrangements and do tole painting. I don’t know as a 16-year-old that I even know what I was getting into, but it was certainly something that persuaded me I didn’t really have that kind of arts gene. I could do inventory and take receipts and do the cash register, but the painting and floral arrangements were not really my strong suit.
Whom do you admire most in business and why?
I’d have to say Terry Bayer (the COO of Molina Healthcare Inc.) I just think she’s a fabulous leader, and she’s the reason I’m here.
If you could be one superhero, who would you be and why?
This is probably just from the era I grew up in, but I would say Wonder Woman. I think anyone who is a mother is a Wonder Woman, frankly, especially if you have a job outside the home not that you’re not a Wonder Woman otherwise but it’s about balancing the work and the family time, trying to do all that together.
Plus she has an invisible plane, which is cool.
