Rev. Billy Graham
'What good is it to gain the world and lose your soul?'
Every week, this email brings you news of some of the most successful business people in Northeast Ohio. Success comes hand in hand with significance, and you would be hard pressed to find someone more significant in our recent history than Billy Graham.
“He ministered to presidents, preached to more than 200 million people worldwide and helped popularize evangelical Christianity in the U.S.,” the Wall Street Journal said in his obituary.
Few people outside my family have been more significant in my life. I went to see him when his crusade visited Cleveland in 1994. His simple message — What good is it to gain the world and lose your soul? — changed my life, as it changed the lives of millions of other people.
He was one of the most quotable figures of our time, but one of my favorites is: “My home is in heaven. I’m just passing through this world.”
Billy Graham is home.
