An all-inclusive upscale working cattle, riding, fly-fishing guest ranch
December might be an odd time to think about going to Wyoming to ride horses, hunt and fly fish, but I can’t get The Hideout off my mind.
Paul Hanna, CEO of Blue Technologies, told me about this lodge and working cattle ranch near the Bighorn National Forest and four hours east of Yellowstone National Park. If you know Paul, you know he was up there to hunt, which the lodge helped him coordinate. But his wife and one of their daughters spent a week there a couple of years ago, enjoying the more traditional activities of daily trail rides and cattle drives.
The Hannas raved equally about the spectacular scenery and the excellent accommodations and service. If their endorsement isn’t enough, The Hideout gets a 5-star rating from TripAdvisor.
With a one-to-one guest-to-staff ratio and an average of only 25 guests per week, you know you will have a very personalized experience. The bad news is The Hideout books up well in advance thanks to word of mouth and return visits. Open from mid-February to early November, it offers 4-night, 6-night and 13-night packages.
