What traits or skills are essential for a business leader?
You have to start with integrity. If people don’t believe you, you’ll never get them to follow you in tough times.

What are some universal truths you’ve learned about leadership?
You can find them in any book. Let everybody know where they fit in to the overall plan, hold people accountable and keep your good humor along the way.

What is your definition of success?
It varies, depending on the particular job I’m in. Success could be outperforming any reasonable expectations that outsiders would have for your organization.
