First job:
I went to work right out of high school at Jasper Oil as an accounting clerk.

What is the biggest business challenge you’ve faced, and how did you overcome it?
Managing growth represents the single biggest challenge I have faced. Taking advantage of market opportunities as they arise is very important in expanding your operations providing due diligence is completed along with an honest assessment of what it will take in additional resources and capabilities to accommodate new acquisitions.

As we have grown, I have enhanced the support services needed to effectively manage the business units we have acquired and new ventures we have undertaken, and empowered the staff to take responsibility for attaining the results initially set forth in the pro forma economic evaluations.

Whom do you admire most in business and why?
I admire those who do their absolute best at their chosen profession or avocation. Well-known business leaders are certainly worthy of praise and admiration, but I believe the key resource behind every notable entrepreneur is the day-to-day employee who gives himself and herself completely in making the company a real success.

These are the true unsung heroes behind every successful enterprise.
