Whom do admire most in business and why?
Bill Gates because he’s created a company that changed the world. He’s spread his wealth among all his employees and tried to use his money in a positive way to change the world.
Do you have a favorite business book?
I like books about martial arts. I think I get a lot of ideas about how to manage people from them.
What’s been your most important business lesson?
Never become complacent. If you’re not worried about the changes going on in the world and what you’re going to do next, you’re going to get run over.
What’s been your toughest business challenge?
When I had a lot of responsibility but not enough authority to change things to get the outcomes I wanted.
How would you describe your leadership style?
For the most part, I try to build consensus but I’ll always make the decision I think is right. I tell people consensus is not a democracy.
