What is the best business lesson you’ve learned?

It’s probably from when I worked in Japan: Respect people’s cultures and understand their way of doing business. You can change and adjust to their culture.

What traits or skills are essential for a business leader?

The biggest one is to understand what leadership means. Motivate people and try to make things as simple as you can for them. Focus on a couple of things and do them well. And know your customers.

What is your definition of success?

Really, I like to see employees have success. I am thrilled when I see people elevated to new positions and they succeed. So for me, it’s all about watching people have success.
