A partner in the firm of Carbis Walker & Associates LLP, Wallace is legendary in the regional small business community for his far-ranging interests and activities as he mentors and instructs on the economic, financial and accounting needs of entrepreneurs. His primary expertise and area of greatest interest is the specialized professional services required by contractors and construction-related industries.
He is a sought-after speaker throughout the United States, a widely published author of articles and educational materials and a sparkplug in national and regional organizations that directly support small business people as well as agencies that formulate small business policies and legislation.
A native of the Pittsburgh area, Wallace planned to become a physician before changing tracks and obtaining a bachelor's degree in public accounting from Mesa State College in Colorado. He passed the CPA examination in 1985.
He founded a solo practice in Grand Junction, Colo., which grew to five CPAs before he sold the firm and moved his family back to Pittsburgh.
Since 1992, he has advanced from manager to partner at Carbis Walker. He is a member of the firm's board of directors and operating committee, and is the construction services coordinator.
