Steve Heilman, founder of MEDRAD. A lot of the concepts of culture at MEDRAD started with him.

What’s been your most important business lesson?

Surround yourself with good people. It’s not about you. What are the three most important qualities that a CEO should possess?

Hard work, self-confidence and a positive attitude

What is your greatest leadership challenge?

The big one is always change and when there’s a lot of uncertainty. The job of a leader is to help get the employees through the periods of uncertainty.

How would you describe your leadership style?

I trust people and communicate with them honestly and openly. If people end up trusting you because they know you’re really what you present yourself to be, then they’re willing to go with you.
