Haynes on fulfilling a mission: The biggest secret I can offer to you, and this is how I manage, is that I like to keep it very simple. The trick is to come up [with] an even smaller essence of what your touch zone is going to be or what star you’re going to follow. When you do that, it becomes so much easier to communicate that. It allows you to constantly be checking and testing whether that fits together.
More on Haynes: She presently serves with both the Missouri Hospital Association and the American Hospital Association. She was awarded the Visionary Leadership Award by the Missouri Hospital Association in 2006 and was named one of the Most Influential Business Women by the St. Louis Business Journal in 2002.
More about Saint Louis University Hospital: About 75 percent of the hospital’s patients are drawn from a 150-mile radius of the hospital.
