Museum invites the public to be part of California's past

When you visit the Oakland Museum of California, Kelly McKinley wants you to experience the stories that are being told through the exhibits on display.
“It’s an opportunity for Oaklanders and Californians to come together and experience their shared history and imagine a shared future,” says McKinley, director of OMCA Labs. “For us, the most difficult thing is figuring out the story that we want to tell when you visit the museum. We have 1.8 million objects, which is huge for an organization of our size.”
